Reuters is an informational agency founded by Paul Julius Reuter. In 1851 Reuter established a telegraph office in London which specialised in the transmission of commercial news. The office later expanded its activities, becoming Reuters; the largest agency of its kind in the world today. Shares in Reuters are listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE 100 Index.
